Is FS working on my F550 :-)

Hi Guys,

A newbie to the point of Hexacopters, I ended up buying 2 F550';s, dont ask lol. One is fully built & was earning its keep in Portugal, the other I put together a couple of weeks ago & have only flown once for 3 minutes.

Anyway, when I got them the software on the supplied Futaba 14SG was yonks old so I updated it, along with the Naza. I have managed to program it all back into the Naza 2 & it all seems good apart from one question.

If I turn the controller off, I see in the assistant that the throttle goes to around 15/20% as I have set which is great. The issue is if I move my controller FS override switch to FS, the assistant shows it has gone into FS but it doesn';t show an increased throttle. Is this normal?

Struggling to get an answer on this one .

Cheers peeps, Shane (York)

When it goes into FS, the throttle position doesn';t matter as the onboard computer takes over the flight to either land it or return to launch, if it is going into FS when you loose signal or cut the Tx power, then you have set it properly.

However if you wish to take back control if you have invoked it manually by switch, you need to make sure the throttle is set to centre, deactivate the FS switch and flick the mode switch to ATTI and back to GPS-ATTI.
If it has gone into FS through loss of signal, just turning on the Tx or flying back into range will give control back, but make sure the throttle is centred.
Why use 4 motors when you can use 6?

Cheers mister,

Appreciate the response.  So just a question,  if as you say the  naza handles this,  why when setting up the controller does it say you must up the throttle to 10%.  This is the bit I';m struggling with as one way of doing the fact lifts the assistant throttle but the other way doesn';t.

TBH,  I haven';t tested this in flight but I  am glad you said about the 50% throttle lol,  could have been an expensive  mistake

Hi Shane,
depending on which motor start you decided, intelligent or immediate mode...have a look here http://download.dji-innovations.com/downloads/phantom/en/NAZA-M_Quick_Start_Guide_en.pdf   its on page 9

Ynot6

for any multi with naza, (or vector) i would only ever use intelligent start mode. i consider immediate to be rather ';un';intelligent on the operators part. 250 size, use whatever you like.
440 Y6 with vector, F330 quad with naza, hammer 240 with flip32, and watch this space.
