Crius AIO Pro USB trick.

Not really a trick or a fix just a simple modification.
I';m sick to death of the unreliable bluetooth connection between my Tablet or laptop with the Crius. The obvious solution is to use the USB for a rock solid data transfer without issues but the port is as we know quite fragile. My solution is to use one of these.

Plug it in to the Crius port then cable tie the lead on to the frame and along an arm. You now have a remote USB port with no risk of damage to the on board connector. You can plug and unplug it to your hearts delight.

That exact thought ran through my mind as I struggled and failed with the BT connection all day yesterday. I never got around to looking for the extension, and now you have saved me the job - top man

No problem,  to be honest it';s quicker to plug the cable in than faf around with bluetooth.

I suppose with the BT range it limits the ability to properly test PID settings anyway. It would be nice to just have it connected all the time but if you stray out of range you still have to reconnect and as you say, at least with a fixed USB connection the data transfer is rock solid.

Just a shame my 13 year old treats the laptop like it';s worth £3.00 and has pretty much ripped all the USB ports out of it

I did this modification as soon as I got my quad, being a newbe I';ll be connecting and re connecting frequently while I';m learning, I';ts far easier to use the normal size USB. I also put a small blob of Araldite glue at each side of the USB port but care has to be taken because the glue can leak into the USB socket. A friend of mine had his USB port come off within a couple of days of receiving his quad.
