I have a Taranis and soon about to push the button on a black pearl screen.

Is there an stl file available to print a mounting bracket, i';ve drawn a blank so far

Ian I went for one of these and re-jigged way round it sits http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/141331046844?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

I typed taranis into the search box of thingiverse and there are at least 3 or 4. I printed one last year and it was alright If a bit chunky.

Smeagol

Thanks Steve, looks good.

Thansk SP, I didn';t know if the black pearl was a specifc mount type so I searched taranis and black pearl together, hence my lack of success. I';ll have another search now cheers

Just a heads up.  While that bracket is pretty good value for money the entire weight of the monitor pivots on the metal loop for the neck strap.  That loop is secured by a screw on the inside of the casing, there';s no other reinforcement.  It';ll be fine if you have the whole assembly hanging off the bracket (no different than using a neck strap) but if handheld or when put down then I';m worried the loop will break out of the casing sooner rather than later.

I took my 7" monitor off for now until I can figure out some support mechanism.  I';m looking for something that can clip onto the "handle" on the Taranis to take the weight, should be fine then. ~~

Sounds like you are talking about a transmitter tray
Not much kit, but what I have I like
Armattan Tilt 2, Morphite 180, Quark 150, Decapitated NanoQX
Taranis+

Hey Smeagol,
Do you have a 3D printer? If so I strike you a deal.  :beer2:
I';ll design and model a CAD mount then send you the .stl for printing if you do me one as well.

Smeagol

Some good comments there QF, it';s set me thinking if I want to use one, spoke to mate he uses a tracker and mounts the screen on the tripod column. He already has a uhf external transmitter module on his Taranis, it';s secured to the transmitter stand he bought, but this and the screen just makes it uncomfortable to carry so much on a neck strap.

@DRKX Design and send it to me, i';ll have a whirl at printing it for you, my printing experience isn';t high but has been successful to date. You have nowt to lose, Then i';ll make my mind up if I want to make myself one. As long as you don';t mind fluorescent yellow

Tarot makes a snide version of the Secraft tray which is proven as a great design - the only issue is their base kit doesn';t have the monitor mount.
I reverse polarities for fun.

Sweet Pickle

This is the one I printed.

This was in the days before I designed all my own stuff (seems so long ago but is only a few months)

It';s solid as a rock. More than holds the monitor with no strain. Nut';s n bolts required are ones that we all have a tool box full of.
