Naza gains for different props and weight, ideas please?

Hi All,

Approaching test flight time with my F450. One thing I have not found the answer to is gains settings in the assistant/Naza. The manual give suggested gains for a F450 weighing around 890gms using the 8x5 props. No guidance is given for any variable factors such as prop and weight!

My config weighs in at about 1350gm all in (including camera) and I';m using Graupner 10x5 props.

Should I make any appreciable changes to the gains to compensate for the weight/props? I have the ATT gain on a knob for real time adjustment but the others are set in the assistant.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts!  ::)

you know, I should assign the gains to the 3 dials on the front of my transmitter.  I have a 450 naza with 1100kv motors and 10 x 5 graupners.  I have used the stock gains and never touched them.  Another thing to add to the hobby todo list lol.

Hi Jumpy07,

ESC are standard DJI 30A and motors DJI standard with 450 kit!

Thanks,

Try these:
150/150/110/130
100/100
As its very seldom two quads are alike, you will probably need to play with these..
With 10s it wont feel as locked in with those motors.. so will be more twitchy

Jumpy07,

Appreciate your input! Gives me a starting point. I understand that they all vary according to many variables but it seems that the Naza manual is a little lacking in guidance for heavier/different prop set-ups.

Will input those suggested rates and wait for a suitable flying day to try!

Cheers,  ~~

To be honest, with Naza, once you are up in the air you';ll wonder what all the worry was about.  They really are very clever at stabilising and in atti/gps you can chuck it full stick either way and it';ll just pivot around whichever axis.  Bloody brilliant :)

As has been said, gains around the 150 mark to start will be fine.  Fly it a bit. If you find it twitchy, try 140.  If it';s a little sluggish, try 160.

Rinse and repeat...

First flight went pretty well! Gains obviously need lowering a bit with slight oscillation from time to time. Its a case of working out which to adjust!

Trial and error I expect but plenty of time to play!

:thankyou:

to all for help and advice so far!
