FPV tracker

I have just finished my tracker build, I tested it recently and it';s working great.

Based on the tracker design by efpv, I drew this up in Cad and machined it from scratch.

I decided to make mine from transparent polycarbonate so that I could use coloured inlay images. Unfortunately they weren';t as good as the results I get with acrylic. Maybe black ABS might be a better option with no custom images, although I do like the logo idea. Perhaps a bit more testing on coloured inlays.

Knowing this would be taken apart quite a few times during the design/build I used threaded inserts to stop the risk of damage by repeatedly using screws direct into the plastic.

The top chamber uses a gear driven by a servo, and I was concerned about the possibility of the wires getting caught in the mechanism, so I made a separate chamber to keep the wires away from the drive.

The tracker was designed and sized to suit the immersionRC electronics, so that they fit snugly on the panels.

The pan/tilt mechanism is sized to suit the slip ring cabling and patch antenna that I am using, although I plan to change this to a helical shortly.

got to say that';s pretty cool like, very nice indeed.
Point and click.

Ive been working on tracking systems now for a few years and i have to admit that this looks a real piece of art! There is a lot of hype regarding RSSI trackers but the problem is that they can only track one axis so there goes your long range capabilities. Using 2 axis tracking is the only way to fly long range fpv and have a total rock solid signal with out worrying if your flying within your signal limits of your antenna waiting on a black out! If you tend to setup on hill type areas and fly out in front or even below this is no problem as well as setting up on flat type land and flying high above, two axis trackers cover all types of flying sites! I see your using some top notch electronics, Knowing your Video signal strength is very cool and a massive help when your aircraft is 10k+ out !  :notworthy: :notworthy: ~~
