QA250 Build, lessons learned. Now with added maiden flight!

you';re lucky then cos I bought one that looks amazingly similar from a hk ebay seller and its in the bin now. total junk. wish i';d had a dvr recording to show but I really wouldn';t recommend these from my experience

What was wrong with it? did it come with a control board to adjust exposure, noise reduction, reaction to light and colour?

Mini update, after purchasing the fatshark 600TVL camera I needed a method of mounting it in the frame, in steps Rommie who 3D printed me a couple of mounts.

Well the wife allowed me a few minutes to tinker with the quad so I got the camera installed on the mount.

wow there is such a diff in size of the vtx  how is the new one? and i love the cam mount  rommie i might have a job for you !!

The size defence is staggering, the large one was 600ma and the smaller ';only'; 200ma, due to the amazing British weather I';ve not had chance to get out and range test it yet, but i';ll post an update when I do.

those little vtx TS5823';s are great - I have been down the end of our flying field 500M no probs  - using decent antenna of course

That';s good to know Gav, I learnt a lot from my first build and tried to make this one as clean as possible, got an overdraft PDB on order so will hopefully be even cleaner when that';s on :)

Looks nice. :>  Which frame is that?  It doesn';t look like a QAV250, they have arms that are part of the main plate - not bolted on as shown here.

Sorry yeah I seem to have a persistent typo going on, its a QA250 From MakeItBuildIt

Looking on the web, there are loads of frames incorrectly called a QAV250. The one is the ZMR250 aka QA250 aka CloneOut250. Good frame and TBH I think I prefer it to the 250Pro as it';s a bit more compact, plus you can get the Overcraft PCB for it which is a great addition.

Indeed Revs, its a tidy frame with plenty of options for modifications thanks to its popularity and 3D printing. I';m waiting on my V4 PDB from overdraft, hopefully be here this month.

I';ve just finished installing a v3 to mine. I';ve had a couple for a while but I';ve been holding off as I didn';t want the quad to be out of service for long. But in the end I did most of the install over a couple of evenings. Just got the ESCs to wire in and it';s done I also went from the CC3D to the Naze32 so I';ve got the to tune. While I had it in bits I flashed the Afro';s with BLheli :) Well, it';d be rude not to!
