Im new to this so bear with me
http://www.hobbyking.co.uk/hobbyking/store/__26740__Turnigy_5000mAh_4S_25C_Lipo_Pack_UK_Warehouse_.html

That is the battery I currently have, and I would like to know what setting to charge it at?
If someone could point out the working out as well that would be helpful.
Cheers all

The safe bet is to charge at 1c, so that would be 5amp as it';s a 5000mah battery of it was a 3000mah battery then 1c would be 3amps and so on

Just watched a youtube video ::)
It says max charge of 2c, so in theory I could charge at up to 10amp?
Is that correct?

Im guessing it would be better for the battery to go somewhere inbetween, say about 7amp to get the best charge time and not ruin the battery as quickly.

Hi Yam

Most if not all batteries can be charged safely at 1c. If your battery is a 5000mAh (or 5.0Ah) then 1c would be 5A. That battery has a max charge rate of 2c, so you could go up to 10A safely, but it';s still better to charge at 1c when you can

The ';C'; rate is a multiplication of the amps, so if it';s a 2200mAh for example, 1c would be 2.2A. The cell count is not relevant in this respect.

Charge at 10amps if you need them fast and if you have time, charge at a lower rate, how low is up to you

I charge at 1C max, usually if I can at 0.5C but I do have 20+ batteries some of them 4 years old and still working ok; lower charge rates and care in choosing the correct C rating for your application so that you don';t discharge too quickly prolongs the life of them.

Not all chargers will supply 10 amps, usually only the ones with external psu';s, although there ade a few.  The charger starts off at your chosen amp rate, then soon ramps down.
