Cheers for the replies guys.
As it says it';s a 10amp  80watt  charger, do I not need a 10a psu for it?

arturios

Those ratings are generally the max amount of juice it can draw before things go south. Darrell';s link is a good one or you could save yourself some cash and use an old Lappy PSU.

dirtyharry

get an xbox 360 power supply, 12v and 14amps  all day long and its sooper quiet.

I like that Xbox idea, especially how cheap you can find them. I actually have a couple lying around - dunno how I didn';t think of that sooner!  :hmm: :slap:
I reverse polarities for fun.

Yep did one ages ago out of the Xbox brick, they work very well indeed.

+1 for the xbox 360 power supply. really easy to convert.
cut the connector of, twist all wires of the same colour together. the big bunch of wires are + and -. and the 2 thin wires are twisted together or put on a switch.

Another option;

Industrial quality power supply compared to the "model trade type"  These are used in my CNC machines for stepper driver power supply.

I use the 12v 30A version for all my 4 chargers and I charger all at once,  Advised to put in a project case/box and add 4mm banana outputs will last for years.  ~~

Yam

It works!
Now I need to get the soldering iron out and do a bit of tidying up :laugh:
Cheers for the advice all!!
