LONG RANGE FPV

I am using a 5.8ghz FPV TX/RX. I only get a range of around 300m before signal breaks down to the point i need to turn my quad around. I use a 600mW TX, and have change to clover leaf antennas (Foxtech Specilas)
What can i do to improve the range of the FPV?
TX/RX for control is the Futaba 14SG

Did you ever turn the transmitter on without an antenna connected?

what brand fpv tx and rx are you using..
as some of these china clone  ones are pretty awful,bad range..

where did you purchase it from..
is it branded as boscam??

And are VRX and VTX one the same channels?  Some of the VRX and VTX are not exactly accurate with their channel mappings.

bought from fox tech, set to same channel, not branded.

I';ve used that vtx and the range wasn';t great imo. getting better with a 200mw TS5823 (although am using better antennae now)
what vrx have you got? is it dip switch controlled or lcd display like the vtx? reason i ask is cos its very easy to get dip switches reversed and you';ll get bleeding from 1 channel to another, everything looks fine on the ground but take off and you';ll lose video quite quickly. not 300m though, you wouldn';t get 1/10 that far.

have you got clear line of sight to the model? if so a helacoil antenna on the vrx would give better range, no clear line of sight and the skew planar would be better but you still can';t expect huge range if you';ve got trees and bushes in the way

Something doesnt sound right i manged 527m on a 10mw tx.

Either wrong channel or faulty rx

Perhaps I should have put the question different.
what kit do others use, and what range do you get, that is different from the kit I am using?
I have seen video of video links at several km, and would like to get this sort of distance.

I';ve had 5 miles out of an ImmersionRC 600mW, with ImmersionRC CP antennas

200mw TS5823 .... I get around 250-300 out of a couple of those ... not a fan mine is better with a filter on but still not brill

Ive changed to an Immersion 600 and what a difference!

Im using the boscam rc305 rx and an aomway 200mw 32ch vtx and on the ariels that came with them i can get just under a 1000m. ( ran out of field to walk along as i was range testing). Ive also flown it that far since.
