Tearing my hair out with HK Camera switcher.

I';m trying to make my Hobby King Camera switcher work and after about 5 hours I';m close to exhausted.
I can get it to work if I use the output reserved for my gimpal pitch control so I know everything is hooked up right.
After that I';ve tried it from out of the Naza on X1 and that';s no good.
I';m running my Taranis in 16ch mode SBUS config (did the 2 jumper pin setup) and I';ve attempted to use any on the other channels from 9-16 (so effectively 1-8 if I understand it right). I have a configured the switch on the taranis but it doesn';t work. Power is fine, it';s on Camera 1 whenever I use any other channel but there is no switch functionality.
I don';t know what else to try. I';m at the end of my tether not.
Can any kind soul please point out the obvious to me? What have I overlooked?

You have configured your taranis to activate a switch?
Have you tried a servo on one of the spare channels to see if it works?
I have retracts set up on my channel 9+10 and they are working fine

Just had a moment of clarity. I was setting the 9-16 channels on page 6 of the Taranis and not page 5 which I now have come to the realisation is full SBUS... not sure what page 6 is there if I';m honest as I';m still relatively inexperienced outside of the basics with this transmitter.

Hi,

I have the same switcher and run a Taranis in D16 mode  for Multirotors where I have channels 1-8 via sbus for my Pixhawk and channels 9-16 as analogue for Retracts, Camera Tilt, OSD switch & Video Switcher.

I will have 3 cameras mounted plus a Minim OSD. A Gopro & Mobius (Or 808#16) powered by their own battery and a CCD camera which is 12v along with a Boscam TS832 transmitter.

I';m a bit flummoxed as to how to hook this lot up! I wanted to get the OSD on the CCD camera only but how? I really don';t want to fry any of the components!

I will post this on its own but wondered if this is similar to your setup.

Hi Jimbo,
In that case nothing changes really.
You just feed your CCD camera into the OSD before the switch. If you had the OSD after the switcher it would overlay on all sources. For ther 2 cameras that are battery powered you don';t need to connect the red servo pin just the video and ground pin.
You';d still have to feed your OSD the correct voltage, mines the Naza OSD unit so that';s taken care of from the flight controller anyway. Not sure what your OSD runs on, 5v I';d have thought (***disclaimer*** I don';t Know this for sure, please don';t quote me). If this is the case you can still take power (ground and voltage only) from a spare channel on your flight controller I';d have thought.

However, I think that I need to power the switcher from the 3s battery connected to a bec to supply 5v.

Does that make sense?

Got mine sorted now!

The Mavlink OSD wouldn';t allow me to bridge the 5v rx side to the camera side but the MinimOsd did.

So I';m using the minim OSD now.

Works a treat with the HK Switcher!
