Had to catch s900 with one hand! (Landing gear fail)

Just a reminder to every one when servicing your multi check every single bolt/screw. When bringing my s900 to land (fully loaded GH4/16000mah lipo) the landing gear failed to come down, after countless times flicking the switch there was no joy! I was also working alone, so cought it with my right hand then killed the throttle with my left.

After inspection 1 of the bolts was missing out of the left leg by the servo, and was jamming when trying to operate. After getting back to the office there were 2 others that were starting to come loose. These come pre assembled by DJI, so I stripped them all and then thread locked them all.

On the upside the video turned out not to bad!

i learnt from the Helis, never trust anything that comes pre-assembled, i usually always re-check pre-assembled parts prior to using, just extra precaution really, i suppose this is also another factor of being on your own, if anything happens, you could be stuck.

Nice catch  :bravo:
I did ponder what I would do should this happen, seems like some kind of rapid inflatable device like dare I say a large airbag might be a useful emergency piece of kit... Maybe even an old beanbag in the back of the car could be an option.

Yes I also have been thinking since this happened, but with bean bag idea your going to smash a load of props and even damage gimbal or camera! I was thinking something made out of 50mm x 25mm timber that collapses or folds up so that you land on the arms and the gimbal and camera go through the middle? But fingers crossed it will never happen again! Lol
