Making the switch to 4s, anyone have recommendations for a 4s battery on a TBS running sunnysky 980KV, 10x5 carbons and a 3axis gimbal (total wait around 1350g without batts)

Frames: Daya 550, TBS Discovery & BAH Nemesis 250 Mini H Quad
FC: Naze 32 Acro. Pixhawk
Motors: Emax 600Kv, Sunnysky 980Kv, Sunnysky 2206 2300Kv
FrSky Taranis with TBS Crossfire Modules
Dominator FPV Goggles FG58U VRx, TS5823 VTx, TS5800 VTx

Hi Shazzy. Have you worked out what kinda amp flow you';re gonna be pulling with that setup?

Also on a 4s with 980kV and 1050 props I suspect you may be asking a bit much of the motors/ESC';s. I have 700kV';s running 4s with 12x4 carbons and it';s pulling about 20A per motor.

Based on the below video I should be pulling 16A max on 4s and 10x5 blades.
I';ve run 11x47 inch props cut to 10 inches and it works fine on 3s!

Ah so you';re ok... just. Those motors are rated at 15A/30sec. Just don';t use a more efficient prop. SunnySky say an APC1047 draws over 20A on a 4s with those motors..

So the next question is; have you set a weight limit or desired capacity?

Would like to have roughly 15mins flight time. With a 3s 5000mah i was getting 22mins . Was looking at some zippy compacts and turnigy 5000mahs.

The new green multistars look interesting but dont know the quality.

I';m using a MS 4000 4s in mine and I';m pleased with it, but I just fly around on GPS so nothing too demanding. As long as you';re not blasting round at speed they';re a good way to go IMO.

Also, don';t forget  that a 4s 5000 will weigh 33% more than a 3s 5000 and will last 33% longer. A 3750 4s is similar in overall capacity to a 5000 3s. So if you';re want to sacrifice flight times for weight saving, something like a 2500-3000 is prolly in the right ball-park.

So lets say 3000mAh and you';re drawing up to 60a, you';ll need 20c minimum, but I';d go 25-30c personally. I';d say these would be a good way to go...

Both are under 300g and should give an improvement in performance while still doing 15min flight time.
