I am just going to charge my new zippy compact 1500 3s for the first time and my charger says its a 2 cell do i just let it charge at 3 cell or is the battery faulty

Are you using the balance lead?

Yes it charged my 1000 3s ok

Sounds like a dud, as long as the balance lead is plugged in try charging to see if all the cells show voltage increase, just keep an eye on it. What charger are you using?

Are you using a lipo charger that came with an rtf model?
If so they are specifically made for the battery that the particular model uses and quite often charge at a rate that doesn';t suit all batteries.

Just plugged it in again to take a picture of it all connected and its all ok lol

Maybe a faulty lead, if it is your charger should stop charging so I wouldn';t worry about it

Its a Core rc uac-50 charger

Your right to be, as long as the balance lead is in there relatively safe. If you haven';t already got one invest a few pounds in a lipo charger bag

I use a ceramic casserole dish - much better than a lipo bag, they are not really designed to withstand a full on lipo fire believe it or not!

Got a bag its on charge in the middle if the tiled conservatory floor lol nothing flammable around it in there lol

Is there not a setting on the charger to set it to 2s, 3s etc.

On mine even though you plug the balance lead in you still have to tell it what it is and at what Amps you want to charge it at.

There is set to 3s and 1500 charged my 3s 1000 up ok plugged it back in and it worked now charged ok
