Hi guys, looking to set up my mobius action cam for fpv and looking to buy a video transmitter and reciever,

Only got the diy quanum googles atm but Prob at some point upgrade to better goggles but want a decent setup so was looking to get these ?!

Thoughts? Obviously get some clover leaf aerials too..

ImmersionRC 5.8ghz  25mw video transmitter A  NextWaveRF certified
+
ImmersionRC UNO5800 v4 32channel 5.8ghz AV reciever w/GS link dual output new version

?! Good setup? Looking to buy asap!

Cant really go wrong with immersion stuff, make sure to get some good antennas and you should have some decent range.
I fly stuff

for the money you could also look at a boscam FR632 diversity receiver, coupled with a 32 CH tx like a skyzone TS5823 or the similar aomway unit. you';d have a bit of change for antennae then, or even a 2nd tx.

with the tx you suggested its only 8 channel, which in theory might cause you issues flying with others with same 8 channel stuff. stand to be corrected there though...

What';s going to give me best quality Tho? Don';t need massive range really I guess?

SumpS

Also like I said I';m going to be using my mobius new version 1080p action cam with lens C so it has to be compatible for a live feed out of this guys

you';d be better off with a dedicated fpv cam. the latency on the mobius video out is quite well documented. you need real time video to control a miniquad, not video from 0.3 seconds in the past. doesn';t sound a lot but when you flying low at 40mph it is.

Well I';ve already got the möbius on the way so want something decent I can hook up to that for now while I learn the ropes and take some aerial vids before I move onto something a bit more advanced tbh..

im with the dedicated fpv cam, like wise at 40mph its noticable..
on a plane you can just about get away with it..
immersion tx,rx....and a set of gavs(member on here) antennas..
dont grow up,just buy bigger toys!!!!

I use a mobius on a flying wing that cruises at 50mph and the latency is not noticeable to me. The video out delay is less than 0.1 of a second when recording in 1080 , and even less when recording 720p, just make sure you give the camera a 5v feed so it charges its battery up during flight

Having said that a dedicated fpv cam gives a better picture and handles light changes better. By far the best bang for buck is the sony 600tvl super had  :-

As for video tx/rx , I think there all much the same now , I use boscam ones , there cheap and reliable , others swear by fatshark/immersion which tend to be more plug and play  , the quality is pretty much the same its installation and antennas that really counts in my opinion.

that cam can be had for £13 on ebay from hong kong. albeit in the 2.1mm lens version. still a great cam for the money

i ordered one thinking it might not be the real deal but it took 2 weeks to arrive and it';s good. no osd board but going to see if the one ive got from another ccd cam will plug in. the 5v/gr/sig connector was a different size and pitch to the other ccd cam ive got so not that hopeful tbh.

I tried a 700tvl camera and it didn';t work with my KVOSD and had poor contrast against grass fields  , i';m back with the 600tvl superhad sony';s and doubt I';ll ever change.

A good place to get FPV cameras is either
http://www.surveilzone.com/FPV-Products
or
http://www.securitycamera2000.com/FPV/fpv.html

Stick to the 600tvl sony superhad cameras , they just work. A 2.8mm lens for planes /quads is good, and 2.1 for miniquads works well also. If you have a look on Bruces youtube page he has loads of reviews / how to';s and stuff for FPV.

couple of my friends decided to go against the grain and spent some serious cash on a pixim seawolf and a effio-v. not realising that mini quad frames are designed around a ccd cams size. much swearing and hacksawing, and a fair bit of shimming later theyre saying the quality is so much better, but i cant see it. especially on my cheapo quanum screen.
