Im looking to build a zmr250 early next year. Just wondering what batteries people are using and what flight time your getting.

Thanks

I use nqnorech 1300 man 3s ad get 5mins no problems and land with about 25% left also don';t get the zmr motors there junk get the ybs jobbys there much better

I';m typically getting around 6 - 7 minutes on 1500mAh, a bit more wtih 1800mAh, with cell voltage down to 3.5v on a 3S with (drumroll) ZMR1804 motors. I also have ZMR1806 motors in another and that gives similar flight times but better performance through more powerful motors.

The DYS BE1806 (gold or black) are excellent motors, punching well above their weight, I';ve got a set of those in a 250 Pro (QAV clone from makeitbuildit) and get similar 7-8 mins out of those.

I';m using turnigy 1300mAh and get around 4 minutes(probably get up to 6 if just pottering about) using 5x4 hq props on rcx 1806 2300kv motors, these motors are great and are as good as they were when I bought them, they have taken tons of abuse, I cannot recommend them enough

12A Afros IME are good ~~

They are - but you may do as well to get your 12A ESCs from Phil at makeitbuildit at the same time as your motors ::)  His SimonK Optos and non-Opto are very good. Got a few in use and find them flawless

Whats the difference between opto and non-opto?

non opto have a BEC built in (provides voltage down the servo wire to allow it to power the flight controller etc)

Hope that makes sense

cheers
Phil

ps thanks for the recommendation Handson
Many Thanks

DYS 1806,    Emax 12a simon series,   1300 nanotech ,  lights, mobius,  etc,  gives  4.5 minutes Hard flying,   5.5 mins cruising max,   i do use a heavy Pixim FPV cam though, and wiring could be a lot shorter

2nd model is same spec except for lightweight cam,  shorter wiring, lights, mobius,  spaced lower deck, etc     and i get 5.3 mins Hard flying,  6.5  mins cruising max

if it helps
Hoverspeed RC ,  support equipment to the FPV Racer

I';ve been using Overlander 3s 2200 30c (167g) and I get 8-12 mins in the air. I suspect it would be a bit more lively with a smaller/lighter battery but for now, while I';m learning, longer flight times are more useful than performance.

EDIT: Just realised this thread is a month old.. D';oh!
