Woodie/Carbon hybrid mini h!

Despite my recent failures and bout of the grumps (thinking about giving up and just flying planes!) I';ve had an itch to scratch for a while. So I fancy having a mini h but don';t yet want to give up too much time (and money) on getting one - so since my woodie h is ok I';ve decided to see if it is scale able.
Enter the title!
I';m using the 10mm sq cf, motors, esc';s and fc that was intended for the mini racer that didn';t work out.
Started on the frame this morning.
I will document its construction as I do more to it, looking forward to getting it aloft.

That will work just fine Darrell, when I built my first it was a similar basic design, the only thing I found I needed different to what you have here is the addition of a couple of pieces of the material you are using as arms(or anything the same width) about an inch long between the plates to stop most of the twisting.

I';ve got some stand offs that will help but also got some wood I can plane down to size so no problem there I think.
Actually it looks bigger than I expected it to so will be flying it los initially to get used to something small again - will bring back happy memories of my Twister!

I think it was Einstein who said that every failure taught him something new about how not to do it.

If one thing this hobby has done for me is to reinforce the notion that "Failure" is more of a mind construct than anything else. Stick it on the list of "Never do that again" and turn to the next bright idea.  ;)  Even while carrying back that Tesco carrier bag of assorted multi-rotor bits, my weekend ritual as it became

You';ve put forward some really good ideas that I think may very well re-surface in the future, either whole or in part. And playing around with materials has been interesting too.  There';s now';t worse than sticking with convention ;)

Watching this one with interest mate

......Actually it looks bigger than I expected it to.....

Just out of interest I just measured my blackout clone(m250,zmr250,etc,etc), the motor centres are 250mm diagonally but front to back is just 150mm and across the front and back they measure 200mm.

Forgot to say, it';s around 300 size  230 motor to motor front and rear.
I want decent clearance on 6" props, if all goes well I might get a set of those 2212 2200 Suppo motors that I';ve got in my Crossfire combat.

Bit more done, drilled and fixed the arms and fixed 450 heli landing skids on.
I want to have the battery underslung so heli skids are cheap and light - weight so far - 151gm!
