Taranis 2.1.0 released

Marty McFly

Hi every one just to let you no the 2.1.0 has been released here,

http://www.open-tx.org/2015/07/16/opentx-2.1.0/    and the release notes are here,

https://github.com/opentx/opentx/releases/tag/2.1.0

I hope every one enjoys the upload,Marty and the borrowed doggie, :scotland:

bazzerh

will that make my taranis stop working with my d4r-iis?
Round By Round Qualifying and Finals For All.

it just makes sense

teslahed

It shouldn';t do because that';s related to the firmware on the transmitter module inside the taranis.

The Taranis has it';s own firmware for the radio systems

The Built in transmitter module has separate firmware associated with transmission frequencies etc.

It';s the later that affects radio compatibility.

If you want to see what bugs have been found already on 2.1.0 try this link. There are a couple that will stop me using it currently although I suspect 2.1.1 won';t be too long in the making.

I installed 2.1 but the telemetry seemed screwed up and the scripts don';t wrong.  I went back to 2.0.17

Ok

Got my Taranis a couple of days ago and have been setting it up

But am I doing something wrong here

trying to set up telemetry with the Lipo sensor and X8r  but i can not get the telemetry to display the lowest cell voltage

"Cels" displays the total voltage ok so this shows that i am getting data but i can not find "Cell" when setting up

[smg id=587]

as can be seen "Cell" is not there I have tried on the Tx and through TX companion but nothing

cheers for any help

On mine, VFAS is the battery voltage, not CELS.
CEL doesn';t work well for me, I heard it basically just has a guess based on the total battery voltage, and it';s not actually based on measurements of individual cells..
I have a slightly different setup from yours though.

Personally I just monitor the total battery voltage, and set up alarms to go off when that gets low.

There has been a massive overhall of the Telem system and how it works!

Because i use a teensy to take the mavlink data from pixhawk to X8R i';m not upgrading just yet

quadfather

I';m pretty sure the FLVSS reported combined and individual cell voltages as individual sensors when I tested that with one of the nightly builds.  I have since upgraded to the 2.1 release build and now the individual cells don';t show up.

I asked about this on the OpenTX forum.  Waiting to hear back.

Re-figured it out.  I thought that all cells were automatically displayed, but that';s not the case.

Add a new sensor.

To display the lowest cell voltage set it up like this

Type: Calculated
Formula: Cell
Cell Sensor: Cels
Cell Index: Lowest

To display the voltage difference between the highest and lowest cells set it up like this

Type: Calculated
Formula: Cell
Cell Sensor: Cels
Cell Index: Delta

Cell Index is the key here. You can also show individual cell voltages. Simply add a sensor for each cell of your battery, configure as above and select the cell number in Cell Index.

Hope it helps.

Thanks for that this will display a voltage but it is rounded off. My voltages for the lowest was 4.18 volts and the telem. displays this as 4 volts I thought that it would show the actual value like it does using the old firmware (obviously not mine since its only a couple of days old)

I think that this could be used as a work around till we see what happens

Cheers

Mine outputs voltage with two decimals.  Check your main Cels sensor, where it says Precision you can select PREC1 and PREC2 for extra decimals.

Fixed in 2.1.1 so it auto does this :)

Quad I have done this but it still displays it as a single value and not to two decimal places

2.1.1 isn';t released yet, still in development, but it';s due in the next few days. You can get nightly builds if you want though. I';ll confess that on my unit I';m still running 2.0.15, I don';t fancy flying my big helis just yet, probably once 2.1.1 is out I';ll give it a go on the quad and smaller helis and see what happens :)

I have done mine in the radio, not through Companion.  I think those where the bugs that Endolf linked to.

Try adding the Cmin sensor on your Taranis.  I can';t get it to show a single value, regardless of what PREC is set to.

You are all delusional. There is no Taranis 2.1.0. Some one has been pulling whatever you are hiding under your fig leaf.
Check it out and see for yourself and see if I';m not right.

2.1.1 is out and fixes a few issues, I';ve bit the bullet and upgraded this time. Took me a while to update the 2 models for tonights flying, still a fair few to do :)

I';m still having problems with this. I';ve set up my sensors as QF suggested and they display correctly on the telemetry page but there is a problem with the logical switches. Whether I use a switch to play the value or a formula (a<x where min is v1 and 3.5 is v2), it just functions on the integer. This also happens if I use ';cels'; instead of cmin.

Are you on version 2.1.1 or later?  Also, did you install the 2.1 sound files?  The voices samples differ from 2.0.

Elmattbo

Ah... I';m on 2.1.1 but have no clue about the sound files - I';ll check that. It still plays the sound at the wrong time though. I set it to play at 3.5v and it will say ';3'; when the value is 3.8 or so.

Having issues with the latest firmware. I';ve upgraded from 2.0.17 to 2.1.6. I';m using an SPR F3 with x4rsb. The Tx and Rx are running the EU firmware. I';ve managed to get the telemetry to show up when you click ';discover new sensors';. However, I can';t get my LiPo voltage to display correctly. How do I get it to display VFAS or Cel voltage? I';ve got an A2 box which shows 10.8v. I';m running 4s so I assume this isn';t the replacement for VFAS etc. All other telemetry is showing fine (rxbat and rssi both read correctly) so I assume that is all set up correctly.

Is there something I need to do to display LiPo voltage?

That sounds like you';re only getting the RX telemetry.  Do you see values for acc_x, acc_y, acc_z, curr, gps, etc after discovering new sensors?

No, I';m not getting any of those. I have my x4rsb telemetry wire going to uart3. I';m just using the one wire to Tx, with no ground wire to Rx. I had it that way with a d4r-ii and it was fine with no ground, so not sure if that';s causing it?

Edit: Just to add, I';ve got telemetry_inversion = 1 on betaflight 2.14. Ports seem to be configured properly, and the telemetry box checked in the GUI.

SmartPort is bi-directional.  The RX sends requests to the FC, so you need to wire both in and output.  The D4R-II uses a different telemetry protocol.

Stalker

Oh right. So if I wire the ground wire, it should work correctly then?

quadfather

No, you need to wire the signal pin from the receiver to both RX and TX of UART3.  Ground is optional if you';re already receiving ground as part of the SBUS chain.
